Is energy an art form in itself? Before you jump to a conclusion, take a look at the high-voltage performances rocking the TriArts Sharon Playhouse, where Walt Disney's "High School Musical 2" is currently being staged.
I need say nothing to win the attention of the young audience members who flocked to see the movies in this series and now enjoy the stage versions.

I also know the title, with its air of Disney wholesomeness, is likely to give "serious" theatergoers an attack of generational snobbery.
In all fairness, this sweet, sappy story about high school romances and dreams of winning a summer talent show is no more juvenile than the Judy Garland/Mickey Rooney movies we fell in love with decades ago.

Youtheatre Programs
Yes, folks, it’s raining again, but inside TriArts’ Youtheatre program it’s all sunshine and smiles. The kids in this week’s Theatre Rocks workshop are developing their performance skills through scenes, song and dance from Mamma Mia, Shreck, Billy Elliot, West Side Story, Hair, and more. But don’t fret, there’s still space in some upcoming workshops. Check out www.triarts.net and give us a call.
