Young Playwright Festival is back for 2009!
Young Playwrights Festival (YPF) took to the Sharon Playhouse last summer! Eight winning plays were staged by professional directors and performed by professionals actors on the main stage to the delight and pride of the winning playwrights. We are excited to announce that 10-minute play submissions are now being accepted for 2009 YPF to be presented on June 30th. This may be the year to see your words and characters come to life at the Sharon Playhouse! For more information on the festival, check out the Web site. And let those creative juices start to flow.

TriArts is about community experience. This summer we are offering five shows that showcase community talent in a big way. We hope that you will consider being a part of one of TriArts' most exciting seasons to date and sign up for auditions. There are more opportunities this summer than ever before!
KIDS 2009! showcases the best of the gifted young talent in the Tri State area. Elementary schools, middle schools and high schools will be the focus of a dynamic all singing, all dancing, all kids revue created and directed by Michael Berkeley.
A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, one of the funniest, zaniest most clever musicals ever created (book by Larry "MASH" Gelbart and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim) offers many opportunities for local talent to share the stage with the creme de la creme of B'Way and Regional Theatre professionals. Directed by John Simpkins (NYU and regional theatres) with musical direction by TriArts's Artistic Director, Michael Berkeley, FORUM is bound to be a TriArts sensation!
After the resounding, unprecedented success of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, TriArts is thrilled to bring the sequel, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2 to our stage. All the favorite characters are back and, as the auditions will be HUGE, we urge all interested to sign up as soon as possible for this exciting theatrical event!
THE MUSIC MAN, one of musical theatre's finest musicals is all about the talented members of our community who we count on to bring this exuberating show to life on the TriArts stage. Actors of all types and ages are encouraged to audition. Whether you've been onstage before or are considering performing for the first time, this is the year to venture into the world of performing at TriArts. Ask anyone who has been on our stage--it's an experience that quite possibly may change your life! This summer we have something for everyone and we hope to see a large turnout at auditions. If you can prepare audition songs, we suggest a ballad and an up-tempo that you like singing, If you are uncertain about what to sing we will provide something. Come see us.
