TRIARTS 2008 YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL
“Creating opportunities and venues for new playwrights is vital to the future of the theatre and it all starts with our youngest voices. There’s nothing like seeing the pride and excitement on the faces of the young writers as they watch their plays being performed for the first time.”

Is there a budding playwright in your family?

Make sure he or she knows about TriArts’ Young Playwrights Contest and Festival, open to 3rd–12th grade students in the four counties of the tri-state area (Litchfield, Dutchess, Columbia and Berkshire).

The winning authors will be matched up with professional playwrights for mentoring sessions and will receive $100 cash prizes.  This summer, they will also have the thrill of seeing their work come to life on the TriArts stage.

Entries are due by April 1, 2008.  Please visit the TriArts Web site at www.triarts.net for more information and entry forms.

A Bit of News
Auditions are going well and we are thrilled with the amount of talent in this area.  We still need some young men (late high school/college), so if you know of any young men, please urge them to call and schedule an audition. Singing and non-singing roles available.
