Grease Careens onto the stage at HVRHS this Weekend!

The perennial musical comedy favorite, GREASE, opens this Thursday at Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village. Produced by the Housatonic Musical Theatre Society, GREASE has been delighting stage and film audiences since it opened on Broadway in 1972. The Burger Palace Boys and Pink Ladies sing and dance their way through a rousing send-up of the music and styles of the fifties, and includes such favorites as: "Summer Nights," "We Go Together," and"Greased Lightning."
Featuring a cast of 31 talented high school students from throughout Connecticut's Region One, the show is directed, musical directed and choreographed by TriArts' Artistic Director, Michael Berkeley. "The program is so valuable in developing self-esteem and pride among students," says Lori Belter, Production manager and assistant choreographer, who revived the musical theatre program seven years ago after the school was without one for several years.
According to Michael, "This is one of the best shows we've had the pleasure to put before our audience at the high school. The kids are incredible and are having the time of their lives creating the world of a 1959 high school."
There are only three chances to catch this exciting production of GREASE—This Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 18, 19, and 20 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students and seniors and are available at the door or from one of the local businesses listed on the poster. Visit www.hmts.org for more information.
We hope you'll support these amazing kids and help keep the Housatonic Musical Theatre Society an important part of our community!
