Dear Theatre Lover,
Remember the wonderful Irving Berlin line about people in theater:
“They smile when they are low”?
Well, we’re smiling.
We’re smiling because we – and you – are part of an incomparable “show business” organization called TriArts. Our “business” is to make people happy. Our shows bring Broadway-caliber entertainment to the community. What’s not to smile about?
On the other hand, we have to admit a sense of anxiety. Our coffers are too low for comfort. Too low for us to grit our teeth and simply keep smiling through.
So we write to you. Why you?
Because frankly you’ve always been there for us. We look forward to seeing you at our events. We’re proud to have your name on our list of contributors. And because we know you place a value on culture – you “get” the importance of theater for our community. And because, fairly or unfairly, in times of trouble, one just naturally tends to turn to loyal friends.
These times are tough on everyone. No doubt, you’re struggling too. The amount you can manage is not the issue. Just please let us know you still care, you’re still with us, we can still to count on you.
The show will go on – I guarantee it. And you will know in part it was thanks to you.
Sincerely
David Sims
Board President
