TriArts recommends the Kent Film Festival!

Campbell Scott has been a long-time supporter of TriArts and we encourage you to check out his new film this Wednesday. Campbell won the limited edition Robert Motherwell lithograph donated by Kenneth Tyler at TriArts’ November benefit, after a production of Love Letters with Ed and Star Herrmann.

Interesting factoid: Campbell Scott’s mother, Colleen Dewhurst, performed
in Love Letters on Broadway. Don’t you just love the synchronicity?

Bloodsong of Love:  The Rock ‘N’ Roll Spaghetti Western

John Simpkins, who directed A Funny Thing Happened...Forum last summer to great acclaim, and is back this summer to direct The Wedding Singer, just opened a new show. Playing off-Broadway at Ars Nova, Bloodsong of Love, written by Joe Iconis, is a hilarious new musical that could well make its way to Broadway. This spoof may not appeal to everyone--only those with a well-developed sense of humor and satire who are looking for something fun and different. The Musician, the fish-mongers daughter, and a crazy kazoo playing villain called Lo Crocodillo are all part of this rowdy, hipster cowboy rock show. For only $25 per ticket, you won’t find a funnier way to spend the evening.

PS: there are ponchos given if you sit in the “splatter” section—what’s a spaghetti western without lots of blood?
